OUR STORY

We’re Not Done Yet
Old Bat Society was founded by two retired American women, Maggie and Ruth, who had spent decades working, raising families, keeping everyone else organized, and being told—usually without being asked—how women their age were supposed to behave.
Retirement was meant to be quiet.
They gave it a fair try.
One afternoon, over too much coffee and a conversation about getting older, Maggie joked that women eventually reach a wonderful age when they stop explaining themselves. Ruth replied, “If they’re going to call us old bats, we might as well start a society.”
And that was the beginning.
What started as sketches, sarcastic sayings, and late-night ideas around a kitchen table slowly became a small creative studio dedicated to women who have earned every laugh line, every opinion, and the right to wear exactly what they want.
Old Bat Society creates statement T-shirts, sweatshirts, and personalized designs for women who are older, bolder, wiser, louder, and completely finished with pretending to please everyone.
We believe getting older isn’t about disappearing. It’s about becoming more yourself.
This society is for the women who still laugh too loudly, speak their minds, break a few rules, and refuse to dress—or live—the way anyone expects them to.
You don’t need an invitation.
If you’ve got stories to tell, opinions to share, and zero patience for nonsense, you’re already one of us.
Older. Bolder. Unbothered.
Welcome to the Society.
